Your Chamber is a 5-Star Accredited Chamber of Commerce by the United States Chamber of Commerce.  We are one of only 38 5-Star Chambers and one a just two in the state of Missouri!  This accreditation assures that you are receiving the highest Member services, benefits, seminars and events.  This voluntary accreditation process makes your Chamber accountable to very strict guidelines and requires a complete audit of Chamber events, seminars, activities, policies, fiances and procedures.  A stellar team of volunteers makes this extreme effort possible every five year and makes your Chamber a model chamber.  In fact, The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce was asked to be a pilot Chamber for The US Chamber's new and improved online accreditation application. 

Chamber Staff Members are also recognized by The US Chamber and the American College of Chamber Executives with appointments to national boards and committees.  These honors are not easy to attain, but not only is your Chamber 5-Star, so is its staff!

The driving force behind the success of your Chamber is YOU, our more than 1,100 Business Members and your involved employees.  Without your commitment and support of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce we could not be a successful Chamber.  The goal of this organization is to make the Joplin Area a great place to live work and play.  Fifteen professional staff people can only take that goal so far.  It is you and your employees that make up dozens of Chamber committees that make all our events, seminars, activities and services possible.  It takes a team of nearly 50 volunteers to put together the area's most successful business to business show, The Business Expo, each year in January.  It takes a committee of 20 to plan and implement the area's only sold out golf tournament, Hot Links, each year in August.  And it takes almost 100 volunteers to run the Chamber's Total Resource Campaign to raise funds for Chamber programs, events and services all year long.  In fact, each year at our Annual Banquet more than 500 volunteers are recognized for their outstanding work serving The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and this community.

The mission of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce is "To improve the economic prosperity and quality of life in the Joplin region, and to be the principal advocate for, and provider of services to, its business community."  It takes a professional staff, more that 1,100 Business Members, dozens of partner organizations, and excellent working relationships with community, education and government to achieve this mission each and every day.
