Join us for for this seminar and learn about how AmeriCorps*VISTA helps individuals and communities implement grassroots solutions designed to alleviate poverty. The program places individuals at nonprofit organizations and public agencies that are working to alleviate poverty through programs such as fighting illiteracy, improving health services, reducing unemployment, increasing housing opportunities, reducing recidivism, and expanding access to technology for those living in rural and urban areas of poverty across America. Missouri Career Center
"It's in the Bag!" Missouri Career Center Hiring Fair, will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Northpark Mall's JCPenney court. If your business or organization needs to direct-hire for any type of position, and would like to have a booth at the hiring fair, please contact Leslie Abram, Workforce Investment Board of Southwest Missouri, 417-206-1717. The cost for a booth is $100. The deadline to register is Aug. 15. Read more and register here!
2008 Total Resource Campaign
The Games are about to begin! Watch for information about the "The Games of the III Total Resource Campaign". Returning volunteers will have a contract renewal meeting on August 20th at 11:30 am. If your company purchased sponsorships during the last year's campaign, be prepared for your campaign volunteer to call for your first right of refusal on those same sponsorships.
All new, open sponsorships will be available on September 30th when "The Games" officially kick-off. If you or your company would like to be involved as a campaign Team Member or want to sponsor a Chamber program, please contact Kim Lester.
