Our Joplin business community is strong and resilient. You have approached this situation with hope, humility, and shared sense of purpose. The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce top priorities during this time are the health and wellness of our community, and minimizing the potential economic and business impact of COVID-19 or our community.

We want to hear about how your organization is being affected by this situation, so we can connect you with resources and share your concerns with legislators that might be able to help.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

As of November 2020, four vaccines have begun large-scale (phase 3) clinical trials in the US. Three of the vaccines in phase 3 trials use two doses that must be administered at least 21 days apart. The other COVID-19 vaccine requires only one shot.

Dr. Randall Williams, director of the Missouri Dept. of Health and Senior Services, has said that the first doses could be ready to administer in December.

The state has a plan in place to distribute the limited first doses of the vaccine to healthcare workers, workers classified as essential, and high risk populations such as people of 65 years of age or older.
