Rebuilding and Reopening
On Monday, March 1, the Joplin City Council lifts social distancing for churches, restaurants, and removes outdoor crowd size restriction. The City of Joplin remains in Phase 2, Step 4 of Joplin’s COVID-19 recovery plan.
IMPORTANT: Businesses in the City of Joplin MUST comply with the City of Joplin recovery plan AND the State of Missouri recovery plan.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information
As of November 2020, four vaccines have begun large-scale (phase 3) clinical trials in the US. Three of the vaccines in phase 3 trials use two doses that must be administered at least 21 days apart. The other COVID-19 vaccine requires only one shot.
Dr. Randall Williams, director of the Missouri Dept. of Health and Senior Services, has said that the first doses could be ready to administer in December.
The state has a plan in place to distribute the limited first doses of the vaccine to healthcare workers, workers classified as essential, and high risk populations such as people of 65 years of age or older.
